Controls & Common Tasks

A task-first checklist for reading reports, using the requisition console, reconnaissance, illumination, and movement.

Build a clean report

Keep the Iron Nest, observer, target, and correction as separate locations. A bearing is only meaningful when its origin is known. Use the planner's two modes to preserve that origin.

  1. Direct: target bearing and range are from the Nest.
  2. Forward observer: first locate the observer from the Nest, then the target from the observer.
  3. Read the final result at the Nest, not at the observer.

Requisition and recon

Operation 3 introduces punchcards and the scout-plane request. The card database distinguishes normal purchases, one-use variants, auto-eject behavior, and experimental cards.

  1. Check the card cost before committing requisition.
  2. Request the flyover over the objective area.
  3. Use the returned location or correction in a new firing solution.

Payload tasks

HE is the normal soft-target round, AP is the primary hardened-target round, STAR illuminates, and SMK obscures. Gas and incendiary shells create area effects; EMPT is the practice payload. Powder charge still depends only on range.
